Earlier today I submitted the following to the mayor and city council along with a copy of my curriculum vitae.
Mr. Mayor & Members of Council,
The selection process to fill the vacancy on council hasn't been shared publicly but I know from social media of at least 1 person who took it upon themselves to submit their name. In the absence of a formal process I guess I'll do the same. I've attached my curriculum vitae with info about me for those I don't already know.
I've said since the very beginning of my 2019 campaign that I am first and foremost a liberty minded independent thinker. It's no secret Mike & I forged a friendship on the campaign trail. In many ways I'm a kindred spirit of Mike but those who have campaigned against me, sat in Town Hall Candidate Forums, or just spent time chatting over coffee know that I have a very different style and disposition.
The voters of Harrison were deliberate in their choice to put an independent in this council seat. We are certainly in uncharted waters with soon-nearly half of council obtaining their seat through appointment rather than the ballot box. The voters of Harrison deserve to have their viewpoints represented on council. As the runner up the last time Mike's seat was up for election I'm well positioned to step into this role.

At tonight’s council meeting we gained a bit of transparency into the process they will follow to fill the vacancy in Mike Mains seat. It seems they are accepting nominations from June 15 – 26, presumably waiting out the appeal window for Mike to contest his removal. I guess I’ll submit again next week while I’m on vacation to ensure I don’t get bit by a technicality 🤷♂️. Interviews will be conducted on June 27th. I’ve got my scouts at camp that week but I’m looking at traveling home for a couple days for Sam’s 18th birthday so this might just work out for me.
