Announcing “Combs for Council”, Round 2

It’s hard to believe 2 years have passed since the 2019 campaign. A lot has certainly changed in the world but a lot has remained the same. Harrison still faces the challenges I spoke about in 2019: the need to provide quality basic services, the importance of fiscal responsibility, and managing the forces of growth at work in our city. Layer on top of that a global pandemic and a tumultuous presidential election and the need for strong leadership is greater than ever.

While out walking one of the neighborhoods, one voter told me that I should talk to Councilman Mike Mains as we share a similar view of the role of government. I did meet Mike and that meeting put me on a journey of discovery that ultimately led me to the Libertarian Party. Like many folks in Harrison, I enjoyed a fairly conservative upbringing. I firmly believe in limited government as the founding fathers intended. I understand the importance of the 2nd amendment and the Bill of Rights. I see government at its best when it gets out of the way and lets the American spirit shine. As I researched the Libertarian Party it became clear that their singular focus on freedom and liberty set them apart from the other players in the world of party politics. I knew this was the home for me.

So “what’s next?” you ask. The first order of business is to get on the ballot which means gathering signatures on a petition – no small feat in the era of Covid. Mike and I have begun circulating our petitions among friends and family but we could use your help. If you’re willing to sign our petitions and ensure there are real choices and not just an unopposed race come November let me know. I’m happy to meet somewhere (indoors or outdoors), drop by your house or have you drop by mine, whatever you’re most comfortable with.

Shoot me an email (electCombs@gmail.com) or a private message on social media or give me a call (513.202.4031) and we’ll make this happen.
