As a technology consultant, I’ve grown accustomed to taking on new challenges. Any time I take on a new client there’s always a learning curve to get up to speed on the lingo and understand what the true challenges and opportunities are. It turns out the same is true when you’re new on the scene for a political campaign!
I’ve spent the last couple weeks drinking from a fire hose. I’ve begun getting to know current community leaders and done a TON of reading. I’ve always considered myself a pretty well informed citizen. I watch council and planning commission meetings on ICRC. I read the Harrison Press and of course I follow the ever-present Harrison Happenings group on Facebook. Still, I have learned so much in the last couple weeks and I continue to learn. By far the best learning in the weeks and months to come will be from the citizens of our city. The weather is improving and I’m looking forward to getting out and meeting you!
